Tickets

The ticket rate for a one-day pass is S$56 for children, $76 for adults, and $38 for senior citizens. You can purchase your tickets directly from the theme park, or you can purchase them in a package from travel companies at a cheaper rate.

Get your tickets from Adventure Tour at less than S$4 and save your time from long queues at the entrance.

Other than entrance tickets, you can also avail Universal Express Tickets (one-time use per ride) or Universal Express Unlimited Tickets (unlimited use per ride) starting at S$30 (UE) and S$50 (UEU). You can use them to avoid long lines in participating attractions including Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle, and Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon. Prices change depending on demand so get them earlier especially during the peak season.

Best Time to Visit

You can come and visit USS any time of the year. However, if you would like to avoid large crowds, do not go there during the weekends and local school holidays (March, June, September, and December). Additionally, the Fireworks Spectacular show is only available on selected Saturdays. (Check their schedule in advance: https://www.rwsentosa.com/en/attractions/universal-studios-singapore/explore)

If you already bought your tickets before heading to the theme park, you can come in as early as an hour before the opening time. Your family may even get featured as the “Opening Family” for the day, wherein you have the chance to announce the theme park opening to the public and take pictures with special characters like Woody Woodpecker (The Woody Woodpecker Show) and Po (Kung Fu Panda).

Going ahead of time also means you have the opportunity to snap good photos at the theme park’s famous landmarks including the Sting Alley, Far Far Away Castle, Hollywood Boulevard, Entrance Archway, and the Universal Globe.

What to Wear and Bring

Since the weather in Singapore is humid and you will be walking around the theme park a lot, opt to wear something convenient. Light-coloured cotton clothes, shorts, comfortable shoes, and an umbrella or cap will help you survive through the day. You may also want to bring your own sunscreen to protect your skin from prickly heat, and a poncho or any rain gear just in case of rain showers.

Moreover, keep in mind to bring just a small bag or a fanny pack. It will help you move freely and keep you from feeling tired from transferring from attraction to attraction. Some rides will require you to surrender your bags in the nearest locker station, so Adventure Tour advises that you only carry the essentials.

It’s also best to bring your own water bottle to save you from extra costs.

What to Do

Once you’ve reached the theme park, it’s wise to obtain copies of the studio guide and programme sheet. This will update you with the shows, parades, and meet-and-greets of the day.

Where to Eat

Before we give our food recommendations, it is important to note that the best time for eating is before 12:00nn and after 2:30pm because the restaurants can get pretty crowded in the times between.

There are eateries available in every zone. If you want a taste of Singapore’s local delicacy, try the Laksa and Hainanese Rice from the Discovery Food Court at The Lost World. The noodles and chicken taste exceptionally good and come in a decent amount of serving. Otherwise, you can grab a bite from KT’s Grill in New York. They serve some Irish-American grilled dishes and a good blend of eastern and western cuisine.

Some also serve Halal Food. You can try munching on the Butter Chicken Biryani Set from Oasis Space Café (Ancient Egypt), Cold Sandwich Wraps from Friar’s (Far Far Away), or Thai Green Chicken Curry from Marty’s Casa Del Wild (Madagascar).

If you’re looking for light snacks and refreshments, go to Starbot Café (Sci-Fi City) or Fossil Fuels (The Lost World).

Where to Buy

Take a little something from the theme park to remember your experience. You can also send some souvenirs to your friends back home. Here’s a list of Universal’s top stores and what items you can find in each of them:

·         The Dino-Store - sells Jurassic Park and other dinosaur-related merchandise

·         Fairy Godmother's Potion Shop - offers toys, gifts, and other novelty items related to Shrek

·         Minion Mart - filled with Minion goodies and other stuff from the Despicable Me Merchandise

·         Transformers Supply Vault - an outlet dedicated to autobot models

·         Big Bird Emporium - features plushies and other treats from the Sesame Street franchise

·         Silver Screen - for items reminiscent of Hollywood movies

·         Universal Studios Store - the main retail store in the theme park. Has a little of everything from all the zones

Other Features and Facilities

Parents would not need to worry about taking care of their kids while in the vicinity as there are many children-friendly spaces all over the place.

Nursing rooms are available at Guest Services. They even have dispensers for diapers and bed liners. There is a designated place for the stroller and wheelchair rentals at the Beverly Hills Garage as well.

Parents also have the choice to use baby swap on rides. This means that one parent can enjoy the ride first while one attends to the kid, and then swap after without having to line up at the end of the queue again.

As mentioned earlier, lockers are provided at chosen stations at the Lost World, Sci-Fi City, Hollywood, and two at Ancient Egypt. You can rent some of them for as low as S$4, depending on how long you use them.

There is also a prayer room for Muslim guests. It is located next to the Battlestar Galactica rides.
